ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER!

On May 20, 21, & 23, 2003 Safe Transportation Training Specialists delivered one of it's newest courses appropriately name "Confidence In The Hot Zone". This eight-hour course is dedicated to technician level responder and is designed build confidence in the responders ability to survive in-suit emergencies and overcome physical and mental restrictions encounter while working within the Hot Zone. While this was not our first time opportunity to deliver this course, it was the first time that we had delivered it to 3 shifts over a period of 3 consecutive days.

As expected the students from the Greensboro Fire Department and NC Regional Response Team 5 were more than ready to accept the challenges that were laid before them. Following the classroom portion of the training, students were briefed on the confidence course and given instruction on specific tasks including the use of dome clamps and emergency product removal fixture. The students were then paired up and entered the "Hot Zone Confidence Course". To say the least, this team performed admirably in more than one respect. After receiving instruction and a little practice most pairs of responders were able to correctly install the emergency product removal device in less than 10 minutes and complete the remainder of the course in less than 25 minutes  From the perspective of the three instructors we were truly impressed with the determination and confidence that was exhibited by all of the students. They successfully managed each circumstance and simulated emergencies with a calm approached and utilized a great many of the tactics and strategies that they had learned in the classroom.
